Other things to consider when trying to lose weight…

Food, part 2….
I talked of several diets last week, weight watchers, Jenny Craig, 5:2.  There are many many more that are trying to get you to try them,  products such as, slimming tea, green coffee beans, Jamaican coffee beans, What these products do is either not absorb any nutrients and give you runny poos – slimming tea, or try to boost your metabolism and keep you burning hot therefore burning more calories in the internal system.  I haven’t actually tried these as I have seen many do these things and they are not sustained.
A few things we have to remember:
After 30 years old the metabolism slows down by 10% every decade.
Check that your thyroid works properly – it is a common problem an underactive thyroid, symptoms are : Slower bowel motions, hair changes texture, ALWAYS feeling tired, thinking it is iron, or not enough sleep, never feeling refreshed on waking, skin feels dry, no matter how much you exercise and cut down food – YOU STILL PUT WEIGHT ON.  You can also feel depressed and anxious.
This is an autoimmune problem and can be brought on by stress. Often if you ask the doc to have a blood test, T3, T4 and TSH levels they come back as in the normal range.  The range is quite large so if you have some of these symptoms then a bottle of Malcolm Harker’s Thyronectre (thyronurse) is a great way to give your thyroid a boost then you may find that loosing weight is easier.  You can also do a temperature test. Go to bed with a thermometer on the bedside table. Once your alarm goes off take your temperature and lay still for 5-8 mins recording your BMT (basal metabolic temperature). It should be the normal range of 36.7-37.4 degrees Celsius. Take it over a number of days find the average.

If you are also full of toxins, eg, antibiotics, steroids, recreational drugs, alcohol and other pharmaceuticals this can hinder weight loss as well.  We ingest so many other chemicals, pesticides, sprays additives and many others that are not natural that build up in the liver over a number of years.  These are all stress on our systems.  Stress is also a weight holder.  Particularly belly fat, some call it an “apron” – it always seems to be the last to go. Cortisol helps it build – through stress.
It can be worthwhile cutting out flour for example – bread, pasta, biscuits etc. In the modern day wheat and wheat products have added extras to make them tasty and these additives can help you gain weight.  The population is about 80% gluten intolerant.  It’s worth a try for 4 weeks. If you don’t notice a change then go back.  Many different digestions cannot tolerate wheat and so changes the molecules to fat and store it until it (the body) knows what to do with it then will use it.  Is that ever – probably not.
Remember everybody’s body is different.  A gentle detox may work first, look at things from a different perspective.  Listen to your body and what really feels nurturing. Less stress on the digestion the less stress cognitively.
