Why these people take pleasure in upsetting peoples’ lives I have no idea…..threatening virus’ to others and their friends. What is the point? All I hope is that they get caught and karma will get them in the end.
So today I was talking with some yoga students where I teach and they wondered how I look so good at 51. I have dropped down to a steady 62kg, (I have been up to 120kg twice in my life, hovered around 80-95kgs for some time too.) I feel great and all it took was some mindfulness about what goes into my mouth. And a bit of a jiggle with different foods.
It’s about thinking what foods can do what, how to not to eat so much. Originally we as humans often went without food, depending on the season. Like the people in Alaska, hunting for winter and if they don’t get enough then they have to ration or go without. Here of course food is plentiful, we never go hungry unless you are strapped for cash, and only have enough to feed the kids. This happens even here unfortunately but generally not in the cities of plenty.
It doesn’t hurt anyone to go without food for a short time, the body is okay about it. (Unless of course you have a serious medical condition that requires pills with food, - however there is nothing wrong with just eating piece of fruit of veggies to aid the digestion for the pills.)
The hungry feeling for a short time is what we used to go through. The diet of 5:2 is the one where on any two days of the week you only have 500 calories the other 5 days you eat sensibly. People are driven to oral fixations, and out of habituation. Fasting stops that habit but must seek a professional for advice on that if you want to do it for longer than 3 days.
The ELF diet works – Eat Less Food…. Don’t have carbs late unless you are about to exercise, if you are craving for something have a cuppa or a glass of water and lemon, wait for half an hour and see if you really really need it, want it…. Etc. If you are not big on breakfast then don’t eat it. I have found that when eating breakfast I am hungry by 11- 12 midday, and if I don’t eat breakfast I am hungry by about 11-12 midday, so actually loading on the calories by having breakfast that my body doesn’t need. Boredom is another factor, get busy, phone a friend, write an email don’t shove unnecessary food in your gob. It is that simple. A dear friend used to work in a health food store selling supplements, a popular one is green coffee bean, or a slimming tablet. Someone asked if it worked… “If it worked don’t you think I would be taking it… look at me!” She is about a size 14-16.
Just be mindful, choose wisely.

Connectivity - different connections to different people?

http://www.balancinghealth.co.nz/weekly-blog/connectivity-different-connections-to-different-people

http://www.balancinghealth.co.nz/weekly-blog/connectivity-different-connections-to-different-people#comments

Uncategorized

Blog 55. 10th July 2017Connectivity, what does it mean to different people? In this new era, new epoch it is said to be the golden era, beginning of the Malayan calendar in 2012, This is a one year a new beginning of a nine year cycle. 2 + 0 + 1 + 7=10 = 1+0= 1. We speak of trying to connect with others through the internet in all sorts of ways, messaging, calling and even video calling. When I grew up we thought that speaking on the phone and seeing each other, Skype, would be weird a [...]

Blog 55. 10th July 2017
Connectivity, what does it mean to different people?
In this new era, new epoch it is said to be the golden era, beginning of the Malayan calendar in 2012, This is a one year a new beginning of a nine year cycle. 2 + 0 + 1 + 7=10 = 1+0= 1.

We speak of trying to connect with others through the internet in all sorts of ways, messaging, calling and even video calling. When I grew up we thought that speaking on the phone and seeing each other, Skype, would be weird and really invading but in fact we get used to it.

Face Book has certainly opened the doors of connectivity. We must connect as humans, we have similar interests, football, cooking, reading clubs, do we connect with all in the same way or is there a solar plexus feeling with certain people. Psychology says it grows with exposure to each other. Research found that new students at residence make friends with the floor and stay friends. All have something in common, they are local to each other.
Why some and not others?
Is the connectivity in our DNA? Some would say soul families, We often stick together perhaps with many past lives together, if that is your thought. The seven sisters of Eve say we all come from 7 lines of DNA, perhaps there is that blueprint that we subconsciously detect.
Some manage to find that connectivity and stay together for all of their lives. Others bang around like a pin ball, trying this trying that hoping to find the one… Some have given up trying. Instead choosing to stay in their comfortable connections that they already have, family, friends. Are we as souls and social animals that we are deserving of a “one”. If we reach out and try, surely having 3-18 months of great feelings to 2-3 months of sadness. What is expected of us? What helps is culling some of the chores, activities, visits etc.
I found a great quote from Paramahansa Yogananda, “Every individual needs a period of aloneness or solitude in order to cope with the increasing pressures of life…. Do not encroach upon one another’s independence.
Yoganada was a great Guru and left India and went to America, he went into monk hood quite early – it was his calling and to spread the word of Eastern philosophy . His philosophy was for love, serving others, treat others as you would be expected to be treated. Harm no one and live and accept with no judgement. Meditate to get closer to bliss and God. A wonderful philosophy. He started centres in America and has been directed by his higher self to help spread the word. Working with all other religions, lectured all over America, had conversations with eminent scientists, leaders of politics and leaders of different churches.

To be alone, for some it is often a challenge, always wanting someone there, to distract, to entertain, to occupy time. However the brain, the body and the energy needs to recharge and we need to learn who we are. I realised when married and in other relationships that I was always compromising on furniture tastes, art tastes, music being played. I never really knew who I was, what I liked in paint, wallpaper, ornaments. I think sometimes if it isn’t important to us we can lose our individual style. Parents often loose it for the children and family home. This also can happen if you do split from a long term partner and then go straight into another relationship - give yourself time to find out who you really are. What do you enjoy doing? Once you find out do it and to hell with everyone else. (safe stuff :-) )
Everyone needs time out from the world. Meditation is great for that. Check out YouTube and lose yourself – even if it’s just for 20 minutes. Give yourself a rest, your body a rest and above all, your brain, your soul and your spirit. Have a great week.

Eight weeks to form a habit - brain plasticity.

http://www.balancinghealth.co.nz/weekly-blog/eight-weeks-to-form-a-habit-brain-plasticity

http://www.balancinghealth.co.nz/weekly-blog/eight-weeks-to-form-a-habit-brain-plasticity#comments

Uncategorized

Blog 48 16th May 2017The change in eight weeks.
